Michelin Scotland Innovation Parc has officially become MSIP, marking a confident new chapter for one of Scotland’s most ambitious innovation and manufacturing destinations.
Located on the former Michelin tyre factory site in Dundee, MSIP builds on a proud industrial legacy while accelerating towards a future defined by innovation, sustainability and advanced manufacturing.
Announcing the transition, Gill Simpson, Innovation Director at MSIP, said the move reflects the parc’s evolution and ambition.
“This represents far more than a change of name. It reflects how far we’ve come and the ambition we have for what comes next.”
Having been part of the project since its inception, Gill has seen the transformation first-hand – from a historic manufacturing site to a dynamic innovation-to-production ecosystem.
The rebrand also reflects a strengthened ownership structure, with Wilkie now the primary shareholder. MSIP continues to work in close partnership with Dundee City Council and Scottish Enterprise, organisations that have played a central role in shaping the site’s success.
“With Wilkie as primary shareholder, alongside the continued support of Dundee City Council and Scottish Enterprise, we are in a strong position to accelerate our next phase of growth,” Gill added.
More than an industrial park, MSIP is a fully connected innovation-to-manufacturing ecosystem. Businesses can move from concept to production in one location, accessing flexible industrial, manufacturing and office space alongside the Innovation Hub and Innovation Labs.
On-site support includes manufacturing expertise, business and scale-up guidance, and affordable low-carbon energy from sustainable sources – helping companies develop faster, scale smarter and operate more sustainably.
