Since becoming the first tenant at the MSIP, MEP Technologies has gone from strength to strength, using the site as a launchpad for growth, innovation and collaboration.
Based at MSIP in Dundee, MEP Technologies designs and manufactures advanced battery systems for a wide range of applications, from motorsport and automotive industries to industrial portable power and energy storage solutions. Every battery pack is designed and built in-house, with a focus on safety, performance and cutting-edge technology.
As demand for battery storage and electrification solutions continues to grow globally, MEP Technologies has been able to scale its operations within the flexible space available at MSIP – expanding both its technical capability and manufacturing capacity.
The company’s work plays an important role in supporting sustainability and the transition to cleaner energy. Its battery systems help customers harness renewable power generated through solar and wind technologies, storing energy efficiently for use when needed. MEP’s technology is also supporting communities in areas affected by energy poverty, including projects in Nigeria, where battery systems provide a cleaner alternative to diesel generators.
Closer to home, MEP Technologies’ systems are helping drive the future of zero-emission transport, supporting applications across electric vehicles, tractors, drones and boats.
Reflecting on their time at MSIP, Stuart Morrison, Managing Director of MEP Technologies, said:
“Being based at MSIP has been really good for us. As the first tenant onsite, it’s been fantastic to watch the community grow and to engage with other innovative companies developing exciting technologies.”
Looking ahead, MEP Technologies remains focused on accelerating the adoption of clean energy through safe, efficient and reliable battery systems. With ambitions to continue growing its technical expertise and reputation, the company is working towards becoming known across the industry as the battery technology company that can “do the difficult.”
